What to Expect During Ketamine-Assisted Therapy

What to Expect During Ketamine-Assisted Therapy

How the Process Works
Starting ketamine-assisted therapy can feel overwhelming, especially when you're already struggling. We've designed this process to be as straightforward and supportive as possible.

Step 1

Complete
a Pre-Screening Form
Before your evaluation, you’ll fill out a short pre-screening form. This helps your provider review your medical history and identify any conditions that automatically rule out ketamine-assisted therapy.

Step 2

Comprehensive
Evaluation
Next, you’ll meet virtually with a  psychiatrist who specializes in  ketamine-assisted therapy. During this medical and psychiatric evaluation, you’ll also discuss your goals, learn more about how the therapy works, and confirm if it’s a good fit for you.

Step 3

Schedule and Receive
Your Treatment
Once you are cleared for treatment, you’ll schedule your in-person sessions at your local healthcare clinic. Your provider will give you instructions ahead of time about eating, drinking, medications, and transportation.

Step 4

Ongoing
Support and Follow-Up
After each treatment, you will have a follow-up appointment with a psychiatrist to support continuity between sessions and help determine the next steps in your treatment plan. Additionally, HealMind provides structured integration support to help you process the experience and apply insights to your daily life.
